AN AMBASSADOR OF CHRIST
An Ambassador for Christ is a person who has given his life to Christ, saved from sin, living in the glorious liberty that Christ Has made him free and plucked out from the clutches of the devil. An ambassador is an official diplomatic agent of high rank, who is sent out by a ruler or government as a public representative. An Ambassador for Christ is sent out to work as a citizen of God’s Kingdom, representing truth and light in a world of deceit and darkness.
2 CORINTHIANS 5:20 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
A resident ambassador represents the head of state of their nation.
We have the right to represent our King, the Lord Jesus Christ, here on Earth because we are citizens of Heaven.
An ambassador plays a crucial role in society. If they don't do their job well, miscommunication and perhaps even conflict could quickly occur.
But the people of Earth have not always received the right message from its ambassadors in a clear manner. That is why so many people are "at war with God" rather than enjoying the benefits of God's peace.
The issue is caused by individuals misunderstanding God and failing to recognize that Christ has already made up for sin.
2 CORINTHIANS 5:21 21 For he hath made him be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Verse 21 explains the reasoning behind the appeal for God's reconciliation made in verse 20: Christ has atoned for our sins. Therefore, we are no longer required to hide from God. Instead, we might appreciate His gift of reconciliation with Him.
A good ambassador of Heaven must understand and accurately communicate God's message.
God wants everyone to understand that if they turn to Him, He loves them and will provide for their needs.
Jesus of Nazareth conveyed this message of God's love for mankind. And through a book—the Holy Bible—we discover Him and His message.
An ambassador does not speak for himself; rather, he conveys the official message and position of the nation he represents.
So, rather than offering our own opinions, we are here to declare what God has stated in His written Word, the Bible, which is the official message from Heaven.
SAY THIS: I shall represent Heaven and convey Jesus Christ's truthful word on Earth as a good ambassador.
