Another week saw another Shedeur Sanders rescue job for the Colorado Buffaloes. The Hail Mary pass the quarterback threw to wide receiver LaJohntay Wester to send the game to overtime in the Buffs' 38-31 win over the Baylor Bears will be spoken of in Boulder for ages.

Sanders was imperious as ever, going 25-of-41 for 341 yards resulting in two touchdowns, and added a rushing touchdown in the Buffs' overtime thriller in their first Big 12 win.

During his postgame news conference, Sanders discussed the thought process behind his touchdown pass to Wester and how he used Heisman-contending star Travis Hunter as a decoy during the play.

"We put Travis backside, he's going to get all the attention, and then LaJohntay's just going to be there, outside, one-on-one," Sanders said. "They're not going to think we're going to throw him the ball because he's a shorter guy, probably in that situation.

So then I roll left, everybody went in the middle of the end zone and I just trusted god. I threw it up to god and god answered the prayer, for sure."

Shedeur Sanders shows leadership in win against Baylor
The Colorado Buffaloes were on the verge of a loss to the Baylor Bears in their Big 12 opener before their stars Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter stepped up. Sanders' miracle heave to LaJohntay Wester was the first phase of getting the win.

During his postgame news conference, Hunter, who has earned rave reviews for his skill on both sides of the ball this season, spoke about what Shedeur told him before he caused Bears running back Dominic Richardson to fumble the ball and ensure the win.

"Shedeur told me to go out there and get the ball once [Colorado] scored, so I told him, 'I got you,' and I kept my word," Hunter said. "I knew I had to tackle. You could see me putting in my mouthpiece late on the play, so I was already ready. I knew they were coming at me. They don't think I can tackle, so I had to show them."

Shedeur Sanders has reinforced his self-confidence as he leads the Buffs through their first season back in the Big 12.

"That's why I use the word legendary, and I post it so many times," Sanders said. "That's the word that I stand by and I live by. Through all the moments, throughout everything, I know, at the end of the day, legendary, that's what ingrained in me."

Sanders had a slow game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers but has consistently stepped up against the Colorado State Rams and the Baylor Bears with his production and leadership on the field.
