A total of seven countries took part in the fiercely fought Jollof ‘War’ with Senegal coming 2nd, Togo taking 3rd place, and Mali occupying the fourth position. The other contenders were Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Gabon.
Until the next winner is crowned in 2025, Ghana enjoys the bragging rights as the supreme ruler of Africa’s Jollof. Côte d’Ivoire and Sierra Leone are the winners of the first and second editions of the Jollof War respectively.
The annual event organized by 3FM 92.7 MHz to commemorate the birth anniversary of Ghana’s first President Kwame Nkrumah, as usual, was marked with great excitement and education as participating countries and patrons shared experiences and unique cultures amidst trade exhibitions showcasing spices, fashion, artworks, culinary delights and several products from different African countries.
