President Akufo-Addo has reiterated Ghana’s unwavering dedication to upholding free and fair elections, describing this democratic principle as “non-negotiable.”

Addressing the graduating officers during the Short Service Commission and Special Intake ceremony at the Ghana Military Academy, he highlighted the critical need to preserve peace and stability as the nation gears up for the December 7 general elections.

"No ambitions of any politician or political party will ever compromnise the peace and stability that we as a nation have Worked so hard to build and enjoy" he declared. The President encouraged security agencies to maintain unwavering professionalism and neutrality while carrying out their duties during the elections. He expressed his belief that Ghana's democracy would endure and thrive despite the ongoing electoral tensions. "In two weeks, Ghana will once again demonstrate a democratic maturity through the conduct of free and fair elections" President Akufo-Addo stated.


"Turge you to discharge your duties with professionalism and neutrality, ensuring the safety and security of all citizens." The President reaffirmed his steadfast commitment to democracy, stating, "The right to free and fair elections isnon-negotiable, and I'm committed to ensuring that the will of the people prevails in every election." As he looks ahead to his transition from office, he reiterated his focus on safeguarding Ghana's peace and democratic integrity. "The peace of Ghana is a sacred trust. And as I transition from office, Ill do so with the utmost respect for our democratic processes, safeguarding the future of Ghana for generations to come." President Akufo-Addo further pointed out the initiatives his admninistration has undertaken to enhance national security, notably the establishment of military bases across the nation.


"The security landscape in our region is dynamic and at times unpredictable" he noted. "From the threat of environmental degradation through illegal mining to thealarming southward movement of terrorism from the Sahel towards our borders, the challenges are complex and multifaceted.”
