NDC Official Confident of 2024 Election Victory, Pledges to Walk Naked if Party Loses
Mr. Mustapha Omar Copson, Deputy Bono Regional Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed unwavering confidence in the party’s chances of winning the 2024 elections.
He attributed this optimism to the NDC’s 2024 manifesto, which he believes gives the party a clear advantage. To emphasize his certainty, Mr. Copson pledged to walk naked from Sunyani to Dormaa-Ahenkro, a distance of approximately 80.7 kilometers, if the NDC fails to secure victory in the December 7, 2024 elections.
“In fact, we have secured the election victory in the presidential ballot in advance, and by a wider margin. That win will confound the New Patriotic Party (NPP),” Mr. Copson boldly declared. He added, “The majority of the electorate now understand and have placed their hopes in the content of the NDC’s 2024 manifesto.”
Speaking to the media in Sunyani, Mr. Copson outlined the NDC’s campaign efforts, highlighting how the party had effectively communicated its economic policies and social intervention programs to the public.
“Feedback from the electorate shows that the NDC and its 2024 flagbearer, former President John Dramani Mahama, are on course to win both the Presidential and Parliamentary Elections,” he said.
He noted that the party’s proposed 24-hour economy policy had gained significant traction among younger voters, while the Women’s Bank initiative, championed by Mahama, had strengthened support among women voters.
“Many Ghanaians now feel they made a mistake voting for the NPP in 2016 and 2020, as the party’s governance has left the country in economic turmoil. Voters are determined not to repeat that mistake,” Mr. Copson remarked.
He urged the NDC to stay vigilant and intensify their campaign to secure an overwhelming victory. “If we are winning, then we must win convincingly to leave no doubt in our opponent’s minds,” he stressed.
Concluding, Mr. Copson stated, “With such a landslide victory, the NPP will learn they cannot take Ghanaian voters for granted, especially after plunging the nation into this economic mess.”
