Following Asante Kotoko's arduous 2-1 victory over Dreams FC at the Tuba Astroturf, head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum offered some analysis of his team's performance.

Ogum expressed worries about his team's stamina throughout the game, but he highlighted that the problem was more with structure than physical stamina.

"I believe that we were weaker in terms of endurance rather than strength and speed," he clarified.

Losing structure during the game was the coach's explanation for the team's difficulties.

He stated, "Somewhere along the road, we lost our structure, and sometimes when you lose your structure, it makes it look like we do not have the endurance to continue."

Ogum gave his substitutes credit for bringing stability and balance back in the closing minutes of the match.

"I believe we had some stability, balance, and solidity in the middle when we made the substitutes, and we got the game moving, especially in the last 15 minutes," he continued.

The Kotoko manager also considered the effects of their recent derby triumph over Hearts of Oak, stating that his players were inevitably impacted by the intensity of the game.

He said, "You expect energy levels to decline when you play a big game like Hearts of Oak, and they exerted a lot of energy on that day, but to me, it was not that noteworthy."

After victories over Aduana Stars and Hearts of Oak, Kotoko's victory over Dreams FC is their third straight victory. Now that their season is picking up steam, the Porcupine Warriors want to contend for the Ghana Premier League championship.

Dr. Richard Nsenkyire, owner of FC Samartex, believes that national teams require a complete overhaul.

Dr. Ricahrd Duah Nsenkyire, the owner and financier of FC Samartex, has advocated for a complete overhaul of the different national teams.

His comments come after Sunday's opening leg of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium, in which the Black Galaxies were held to a goalless draw.

In an interview with Asempa FM, Dr. Nsenkyire made the case that, despite the success of the women's national teams, reform is still necessary for the other national teams.

Reforms are required for the different national teams. It is about acting morally," he stated.

"What happens to the players if the Black Galaxies do not make it? The male national teams have struggled, but the women's teams appear to be doing well, and I think the Executive Council is trying to make sure we do well," he continued.

The return leg of the Black Galaxies will take place on Saturday, December 28 at Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

The victor will guarantee a place in the CHAN tournament, which will take place in Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda the following year.
