Asante Kotoko's youth team have agreed or accepted the invitation to participate in this year's Cheetah Cup which is young talents to show their worth and skills. This is the fourth edition, this tournament is played at the Yartel Okoso park located in Senya Berekum of the central region of Ghana. Cheetah Cup because the owners of cheetah football club are the creators of this competition which has 24 juvenile teams competing for glory. It started with 16 and was expanded last year. This year would also have female teams competing for a trophy. This shows how credible the tournament is, and their drive to make it more bigger. At this point we wish the young porcupines all the best in completing their league and also doing well in the tournament. And it also includes teams from other countries.
And below is what the organisers said about the team, The name and flag of one of Ghana's biggest clubs will fly high at this year's Cheetah Cup in Senya Beraku. The African club of the century will be represented by their Under 17, known as the Young Porcupines, in the fourth edition of the competition.The Porcupine Warriors recently formed and strengthened their youth side, who are currently participating in the Greater Kumasi Division 3 League (Group 1) in the Ashanti Region.The tournament seeks to provide a good platform for the best youth clubs in Africa to compete among themselves. 24 clubs from 13 countries (Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, Mali, Guinea, Liberia, and Niger) will meet in Senya Beraku from the 17th to the 24th of August during the festive period of the people of Senya Beraku for the tournament.
The fabulous spirit will be in full flight at the grassroots level when they face off with clubs from Ghana and several other African countries. With the participation of Accra Hearts of Oak in the tournament last year, the appearance of Asante Kotoko SC will ignite the rivalry of Ghana's two biggest clubs at the Cheetah Cup 2025.
