As it always goes through 2 biggest Ghanaian sides would be facing early in the month of July for this year's President cup. The match is slated to come on this 6th of July 2025. The game that is mostly headlined by the Ghana League Clubs Board ( GHALCA). The launch was done on Thursday the 12th of June. This saw some representation from Asante Kotoko even though the club is busily preparing for an FA cup final. The last time both clubs met on a cup match Kotoko beat Hearts Of Oak by 2 goals to 1. This was in the democracy cup that was played after last season. This time around it would be a new Hearts Of Oak all together with the same coach but most of the starters of that game would not be there. Kotoko would see to make it back to back cup wins against the Phobians. And it has also been a while since the porcupines won a President cup match against Accra Hearts Of Oak too. We wish all sides good luck. Gate fee is totally free for this game as well. The match would come off at the Accra sports stadium. 

This is a piece of what the Ghana Leagues Club association said at the launch of the game. 

GHALCA in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and Recreation on Thursday 12th June, 2025 launched the President’s Cup 2025 in Accra. The 2025 President’s Cup will be between Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko scheduled to be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on 6th July, 2025.

In attendance at the brief launching ceremony were Mr. William Kartey (Chief Director, Ministry of Sports and Recreation), Mr. John Ansah (Chairman, GHALCA), Mr. Nathaniel Kwabena Anokye Adisi “Bola Ray” (Member, President’s Cup 2025 Fundraising/Planning Committee), Mr. Osisiadan (SUCCA Africa), Phyllis Marku Mensah (Vice Chairperson, GHALCA), Mr. Sarfo Duku and Emmanuel Antwi (Reps from Asante Kotoko) and Mr. Opare Addo and Benjamin Asare (Reps from Hearts Oak).
