Hon. Godfred Dapaa, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkoranza South Municipality, has embarked on a familiarization tour to engage with constituents and understand the pressing issues affecting their communities.
The tour, according to Hon. Dapaa aims to introduce himself and also identify key challenges and develop solutions to improve the residents' lives.
In an exclusive interview with Fabea FM, Dapaa emphasized the need to identify the challenges through visiting the community members.
During his tour, Hon. Dapaa encountered some key challenges including youth unemployment as a pressing issue, as many young people struggling to find jobs and opportunities, infrastructure challenges like electricity extension, portable water, and streetlights, among the top concerns were teaching and learning materials in various schools, as well as accommodation for teachers, the need for Healthcare were also raised and security issues with Fulani herdsmen and their cattle.
The community lacks some basic social amenities and I must immediately work to bring development for the people. He assured the community that he will work very hard to meet their needs and resolve the challenges facing the community.
Additionally, some community members highlighted the issue of youth engaged in hard drugs, alleging that police take bribes to release them when they are caught. We are pleading with Hon. Daapa to do something immediately about the situation to curb the use of drugs by the youth in the community. These drugs are destroying the future of the youth and we want them to stay away from using or getting addicted to drugs.
Hon. Dapaa's call to action included urging assembly members to bring all unemployed school graduates to his office, assuring them that opportunities would be considered as they arise. I will tackle this unemployment issue and ensure opportunities are made available to the community.
He also emphasized the importance of unity among traditional leaders in supporting his efforts to deliver for the municipality. Going forward the traditional leaders must ensure there in unity which will play a vital role in the development of the community. When there is unity it enhances the progress of the community because everyone will join hands in bringing development to the community.
"As I embark on this familiarization tour, the people of Nkoranza South Municipality's needs are hopeful obligations to address positive change", he assured.
"With a commitment to addressing the challenges facing the constituents, I am poised to make a meaningful impact in the lives of residents", he added.
He concluded in encouraging the chiefs to strengthen their unity to support his efforts.
