Karim Zito is being given priority over coaching for the position of technical director by Asante Kotoko veteran Sarfo Gyamfi, who believes the latter can aid in the development of players for the Porcupine Warriors.
After a run of poor Ghana Premier League results led to Prosper Narteh Ogum's dismissal, Zito rejoined Kotoko as the Porcupine Warriors' interim coach and new technical director.
Since moving from Dreams FC to the Porcupine Warriors, the seasoned Ghanaian trainer has improved. With three games left in the season, Kotoko is still on track to fight for the Ghana Premier League title after he led the team to the FA Cup finals.
The former Kotoko player praised Karim Zito's abilities in an interview with Kessben FM, stating that, given his success with Dreams FC, he can aid in the team's player development.
"I like Zito as a coach. No issues if he stays on as technical director or takes over as substantive coach. As a technical director, he can assist us in developing players. Given what he accomplished at Dreams FC, he is renowned for discovering talent. After losing several players to teams overseas, he managed to put together a fresh squad for this season, he stated.
Asante Kotoko will travel this weekend to play the Bibiani Goldstars in the Ghana Premier League's matchday 32. Given that both sides will be vying for points to further their title hopes, the matchup is sure to be exciting.
