Top Nigerian finance expert, Hilda Manyo Dickson, has shared a deeply personal story about her battle with infertility and the shocking advice she received from a medical professional. In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo on his YouTube show With Chude, Hilda revealed the painful experiences she endured while trying to conceive.
According to Hilda, she and her husband had initially agreed to wait a year after marriage before trying to have a baby. However, when she didn’t get pregnant by the second year, she began to worry. She disclosed that her anxiety increased when she remembered what a doctor had once told her—that she might find it difficult to conceive due to a previous health condition.
In the emotional interview, she said, “When I got married, it was my decision with my husband to wait for one year before having a baby, and by the second year of our marriage, I started expecting pregnancy. I couldn't figure out when I started panicking, but from my history, I know I have been told at some point that it might be difficult for me to have a baby.”
She went on to describe the shocking advice she once received from a doctor during her fertility struggles. “A doctor advised me to have s€x with any old man that comes my way for me to get pregnant,” she revealed.
Hilda also spoke about a past surgery that had an impact on her fertility. She said the surgery, although necessary, further reduced her chances of conceiving. The combination of this surgery and the insensitive advice from the doctor left her devastated.
