In preparation for the 2025–2026 football season, Hearts of Oak has announced the creation of a recruitment committee to manage the team's squad rebuild.

On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, the club issued a statement stating that the committee members will be "selected from the board, management, and technical personnel." ''

By the recommendations of the technical team, the committee has started a thorough evaluation procedure that includes evaluating both prospective hires and present performance.

"Data analysis drives the recruitment strategy, which focuses on improving important areas within the team," the club stated. In order to guarantee conformity with the club's long-term goals, we are also elevating the responsibilities of present players concurrently. Some players will be released if they do not make the cut.

The members of the recruitment committee were not named in the management statement, though.

Hearts of Oak, who placed fourth in the recently finished season, will play Asante Kotoko in the President's Cup on July 6, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium as part of their preparation for the upcoming campaign.

Baba Rahman criticizes Ghana's subpar pitch conditions, calling them a "national disgrace."

Baba Rahman, a defender for the Black Stars, has taken aim at Ghana's subpar football fields, calling them a "national shame" that needs immediate attention from sports officials.

Following the 2025 MTN FA Cup final, which took place at the University of Ghana Stadium, Rahman's comments have drawn fresh public condemnation.

The venue's uneven and badly kept surface sparked widespread criticism, which rekindled discussions over the nation's general football infrastructure quality.

Rahman emphasized how the circumstance still damages Ghana's football reputation both domestically and abroad.

He told Joy Sports, "This is a major issue that needs quick attention." Let us at least make sure the national team has a suitable field to play on. "I am pleading with those in authority." It can be quite awkward at times.

The Confederation of African Football temporarily banned stadiums last year due in part to the long-standing issue with Ghana's playing fields. Even if the sanction was eventually removed, the underlying problems still exist.

Rahman, who has played all around Europe and is currently with the Greek team PAOK, clarified that his international teammates had made fun of the bad pitch conditions.

After serving abroad, you return to your club, where your teammates make fun of the nation due to the fields we utilize. It truly is a national embarrassment," he disclosed.

"We still need to put in the work, even if I know the weather makes pitch upkeep challenging. All of our national teams, from the juniors to the women's teams, will gain from better pitches, he continued.
