Ghana is likely to spend nearly a million cedis on President Akufo Addo's hotel room in comparison to the cost of his journey to the United States.
This information was contained in letters of correspondence between the hotel, the Ghanaian Embassy in the United States, and the Office of the President, which were released on social media by Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, the opposition Member of Parliament for the South Dayi Constituency.
According to the paper viewed, the president would stay at the Four Seasons Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia, from November 29 to December 2, 2021.
The president's visit to Ghana will cost the Ghanaian taxpayer US$73,395 (GH470,000) and will include an advance team that will be in the city from November 26 to December 3, 2021.
Rooms dedicated for the president and his delegation cost between $400 and $8,000 per night.
