Jurgen Klopp is rumoured to be planning a deal for Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos to join Liverpool. The German coach is looking to strengthen his midfield and believes that the former Bayern Munich star is the right match.
Klopp has committed to make a move for Kroos in the summer, according to El Nacional. He sees the 31-year-old as the player who will elevate his midfield to new heights.
Toni Kroos' Real Madrid contract expires in 2023, and Liverpool hope to take advantage of the scenario. The Reds are apparently interested in a bargain deal for the German midfielder, who has less than a year left on his contract. Toni Kroos of Real Madrid has been praised by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp praised Toni Kroos earlier this year, comparing him to German legend Bernd Schuster. After their 3-1 Champions League loss at Di Stefano Stadium, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp lauded Real Madrid's best player.
He stated, "
"For a long time, he has been one of Germany's most promising young players. He's been a fantastic player since he was a kid. He joined Bayern Munich when he was very young, was loaned to Leverkusen, returned to Bayern, played brilliantly, and then made the bold move to Real Madrid. He became one of the most successful club footballers in the world with Real Madrid, and he helped Germany win the World Cup in 2014."
"So he's definitely a successful player, and he's only 31 years old." There will be a lot more to come. He's also a good guy, very laid-back, and although we don't know each other very well, I've liked and admired him for years because he's a fantastic football player. I'm not sure if you're familiar with Bernd Schuster, but he's a similar player from Germany who also played in Spain and is similar to Toni. Toni is definitely more energetic and faster in all he does, albeit not a sprinter."
In September 2020, Liverpool signed Thiago from Bayern Munich in a similar transaction. They attempted to strengthen their midfield this summer but failed to make any progress.
