Federico Pastorello, the agent of Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, has disclosed an intriguing transfer storey concerning the striker. Lukaku has a tumultuous move history in European football. Pastorello claimed that the Belgian could have joined Juventus at some point in the past when discussing the player's transfer history.

It happened just before Lukaku was about to leave Manchester United. In an interview with Tuttosport via Football Italia, his agent, Pastorello, said:

"The Manchester United transaction was put on hold because Zhang refused to accept United's criteria. United had reached a deal with Juventus to buy Dybala and Mandzukic, and Romelu had previously spoken to Maurizio Sarri and Cristiano Ronaldo. We were able to persuade Zhang to increase his offer, and I believe his arrival in Italy changed the balance, with all due respect to his previous teammates."

The Belgian eventually transferred to Inter Milan, where he trained alongside Antonio Conte, the former Chelsea manager. Lukaku established himself as one of the top players in Serie A, assisting Inter in winning the Scudetto.

Romelu Lukaku joined Chelsea from Anderlecht as a teenager. His powerful build and fast speed drew a lot of attention, prompting Chelsea scouts to sign him.

However, due to the high level of competition in the squad, he was unable to secure a spot in the first team. He was loaned out to West Bromwich Albion and Everton before signing a permanent deal with the Toffees in 2014.

He scored 53 goals in 110 games for the Merseyside club, which led to his acquisition by Manchester United in the summer of 2017. Lukaku was transferred again in the summer of 2019 despite scoring 28 goals in 66 games for Manchester United. Chelsea re-signed him this summer for a club-record fee of £97.5 million, following his impressive spell with Inter. After a quick start to his second Chelsea tenure, he has slowed down a touch and will be looking to score shortly.

Lukaku has a long history with Chelsea, having been a die-hard supporter since he was a teenager. Didier Drogba, a Chelsea legend, is his idol.
