Mauricio Pochettino has been heavily connected with the Man United manager's post, and he has spoken out about the club.
Mauricio Pochettino is the manager of Tottenham Hotspur.
Mauricio Pochettino remains a target for Manchester United this summer.
After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was fired in November, United evaluated Pochettino as a possible successor.
PSG refused to consider the thought of Pochettino leaving the club in the middle of the season, thus United appointed interim manager Ralf Rangnick, who will be in command of the club until the end of the season.
After a turbulent season with United, Rangnick faces the task of earning Champions League football. The significance of a Premier League top-four finish cannot be overstated. It is necessary for United to be able to recruit the greatest managers and signings.
Pochettino fits into that category, and he might be United's new manager this summer.
But, over the course of his career, what has he said about United? The MEN have taken a deeper look at the situation.
Pochettino was asked about United's interest in recruiting him as manager after Solskjaer was fired in November. With his responses, the PSG coach didn't reveal much: "In Paris, I'm fine. As a player and a coach, I am very familiar with the city "he stated
"This is something I've always had to deal with. Things happen, and I'm not responsible for them. What I'll say is that if you ask me, I'm content in Paris. I'm not a kid at all. I am not a kid. We're in football, which is an industry where rumors abound.
"What's going on is totally clear to me. Sometimes in a good way, sometimes in a bad way. This kind of thing can't possibly be distracting. There are rumors. That is something we must accept. We're quite focused. At Paris Saint-Germain, I am in ecstasy.
Pochettino will be in charge in November.
"Tomorrow, we are completely focused on achieving the best possible result. We can't discuss that [United interest] because of my loyalty to my team.
"What another club is doing right now is none of my business, and I'm not going to make the mistake of talking because we know whatever we say will be misinterpreted."
Pochettino was evasive in his responses. The 49-year-old has worked with United before, having managed Southampton and Tottenham in the Premier League, and he backed Jose Mourinho when he was in charge at Old Trafford in 2017.
"Whenever one begins a new initiative, time is required," Pochettino stated.
"In this scenario, despite the fact that Jose is one of the top coaches in the world, he need more time to implement his ideas and ensure that the team functions as he desires. It's too early to make any conclusions about what's going on with the teams right now."
Pochettino tutored Shaw at Southampton and raved about the left-back in 2017 when asked about United. Shaw confessed five years ago, "I do hope that I can play for him again one day," to which Pochettino responded with odd comments.
"The book is the book, and you must place the sensations in context," says the author "Pochettino stated the following.
Shaw and Pochettino.
"When I was a young player, that happened to me. You enjoy spending time with some people, but you constantly feel bad about it. However, this simply describes a feeling from the past. For my part, I believe you'd like to talk about it since you're startled by the book.
"It's difficult to locate another book, read them all, and attempt to be truthful and explain everything without lying." That is critical."
Could Shaw collaborate with Pochettino on another chapter? This summer, it's a distinct possibility.
