COCA-COLA GHANA CONTRIBUTES ?1.4M TO COVID-19 PRIVATE SECTOR FUND

The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited, a part of the Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Group, has made a total contribution to the Ghana Covid-19 Private Sector fund of 1.4 million dollars.

 

Following the pandemic's onset, the firm launched a consumer support campaign, donating monies from product sales to the Covid-19 Private Sector Fund to aid in the battle against the virus.

 

The 'Open Like Never Before' campaign, which ran from September 1, 2020, to December 31, 2021, donated 10p to the Fund for every 1.5L Coca-Cola, Fanta, or Sprite bottle sold.

 

Following a November 2020 payment of 113,430, successive contributions of 258,526, 373,999, and 285,660 were made in February 2021, June 2021, and November 2021.

At a brief ceremony to present its final contribution of 370,480 to mark the end of the campaign, Robert Akazaawie, Human Resource Director of the Equatorial Coca-Cola Bottling Company – West Africa Business Unit, thanked consumers for their support and congratulated the fund's administrators for leading such a successful initiative.

"As you are aware, the campaign, which was originally set to expire in June 2021, was extended to December 2021 after it was realized that more needed to be done given the severity of the epidemic at the time.
