Philippe Coutinho has revealed that he has received messages of support from a number of Liverpool fans ahead of Sunday's Premier League match against Manchester City, but that he is only concerned with helping his new club.
The Brazilian midfielder joined Aston Villa on loan from Barcelona in January, and Steven Gerrard's side has since made the move permanent. Coutinho, along with Danny Ings and Steven Gerrard, will be part of Villa's squad this weekend, hoping to do his former club a big favor in the title race.
Liverpool need three points against Wolves at Anfield, but they also need City's opponents to take at least one point off Pep Guardiola's men to have a chance of winning the Premier League. Coutinho has admitted that despite being fully aware of the circumstances surrounding the match at the Etihad, he is not allowing his past association with Liverpool to weigh heavily on his mind.
