On Friday, May 27, 2022, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) opened its regional delegates conference to pick new executives.
Eight regions have already had elections, with several of their chairmen keeping their seats, including Ahafo, Bono East, Central, Northern, North East, Savannah, Upper East, and Western North.
Delegates in the Ashanti, Eastern, Greater Accra, Upper West, Volta, Oti, and Western Regions, on the other hand, have yet to vote. The competitions will take place on Saturday, May 28, 2022.
Many people are curious to see who wins what in these areas since newcomers are hoping to topple incumbents because they believe they have what it takes to help the party 'break the eight.'
The entire list of NPP chairman that were re-elected on Friday, May 27 is included below.
Prof. Kalmonia has been re-elected as chairman of the NPP Savannah.
Iddrisu Sulemana, the incumbent Savannah Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been re-elected.
He received 112 votes, while his opponent, Abass Azumah, received 60 votes.
Samba has been re-elected as Chairman of the Northern People's Party (NPP).
With 238 votes, businessman Mohammed Adam Bantima Samba was re-elected as the ruling New Patriotic Party's Northern Regional Chairman.
Kwabena Owusu Sekyere, the current Ahafo Chairman, keeps his job. Kwabena Owusu Sekyere was also re-elected during the regional chairmanship election in Goaso on May 27.
"He received 49 votes, beating out six other candidates, including former Member of Parliament for Asunafo North, Robert Sarfo-Mensah, who came in second with 43 votes," according to Graphic.com.gh.
NPP Upper East Chairman Anthony Namoo was re-elected.
Anthony Namoo, a legal luminary, was re-elected as the ruling New Patriotic Party's Upper East Regional Chairman after defeating his five opponents by 114 votes.
NPP Chairman Nurudeen Fuseini was re-elected in the North East region.
Nurudeen Fuseini was re-elected as the NPP's North East regional chairman with 146 votes cast on Friday, May 27.
However, the regional executive elections are set to finish on Sunday, May 29.
