Francis Asenso Boakye, the Minister of Works and Housing, has reaffirmed the government's commitment to addressing the country's flooding problem.
While acknowledging that the problem has worsened, the Minister stated during a news conference that the government has put a lot of resources into addressing the problem.

On Sunday, he stated, "The government's commitment to enhancing our settlements' flood resistance has remained consistent."
"Investment in flood control measures under the 2018 budget has increased significantly over the last four years. and the 2020 National Control Programs is the most significant commitment made by any government in our history. Approximately GHS 450 million will be spent.
"To date, the 2018/2020 National Flood Control Program has completed the construction of 35 kilometers of drains, while over 1000 kilometers of drains have been dug, rechanneled, and maintained around the nation," he stated.
For decades, the Greater Accra Region has faced a serious issue in the form of perennial floods.

North Kaneshie, Kwame Nkrumah Circle, and Kasoa are among the Greater Accra Region's flooded urban areas.
Traffic movement was blocked on certain main arteries in the capital as a result of the phenomena.
After flood waters intruded the Kaneshie Polyclinic, it was forced to close.

As a result, many residents have called on the government to take immediate action to address the problem.
Mr Boakye gave the government's "unwavering" pledge to remedy the situation as a result of these conversations.
