The President and CEO of Community and Entrepreneurial Development Initiative (CEDI Ghana), Kingsley Kwaku Pinkrah, a multiple award-winning social entrepreneur, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Queen's University, Leadogo Incorporated in Canada, and JACCD Design Institute Africa to create thousands of jobs for Ghanaian youth. It was agreed upon on Friday, June 24, 2022.

This initiative, called Entrepreneurship Jobs for All (E-Jobs4All), will give young people the tools they need to launch and expand their firms. Free entrepreneurship instruction will be offered both in-person and online, as well as through an exchange programme and with the help of Leadogo Incorporated, teachers from Queen's University, alumni, and Canadian business professionals. The on-site training will also take place at JACCD Design Institute Africa in Accra. We anticipate that the Future company owners and their enterprises will constitute the backbone of a contemporary private sector that serves as a catalyst for employment growth in Ghana.

Professor Mohamad Abou Hamia, a former senior economic advisor for the UN, spoke at the event and expressed his support for the initiative.

The globe has not yet fully recovered from the bad effects of the horrible epidemic that struck us in early 2020, thus today's signing of the MoU is timely. As a result, worldwide inflation rates have continued to grow. This will shortly be followed by a severe recession, and millions of people may lose their jobs, particularly in emerging nations, he said.

Respectable Bright Speaking at the occasion as well was Wireko Brobbey, the Deputy Minister for Employment and Labor Relations. congratulated the sponsors of the initiative, saying that it "will give young people the necessary technical and entrepreneurial skills to support the government's job creation efforts." He said that it is impossible to overstate the significance of this intervention and the applicability of the initiative. This is because, according to the Ghana Statistical Service's Seventh Round of the Ghana Living Standards Survey (GLSS 7), the formal sector won't be able to provide enough employment to accommodate the expanding labour force. The informal sector, which now employs around 85% of the labour force, would thus need to be directed toward by a significant section of the population.

He came to the conclusion that the E-Jobs4All Project's beneficiaries needed assistance in order to expand job prospects and accommodate the expanding labour force in both the formal and informal sectors of the economy.

The partners, Professor Greg Bavington, Executive Director of Queen's University Dunin-Deshpande Queen's Innovation Centre in Canada, Mr. Matt Hawskley, Chief Executive Officer of Leadogo Incorporated in Canada, and Madam Joyce Ababio, President of JACCD Design Institute Africa, were overjoyed for this wonderful partnership that will provide opportunities for young people who are interested in starting their own business. The initiative is anticipated to start soon, at which point the application page will be accessible for any interested kid to apply.

Professor Bernard Forjwuor, Undergraduate Director of Notre Dame University in the United States of America, Professor Gabriel Eshun, Technical Advisor of the Tourism Ministry, Professor K. O. Appiah, Head of Department, Accounting and Finance, KNUST, and Apostle Dr. Abraham Ofori-Kuragu, Former Member of the House of Representatives, were among the dignitaries who attended this event.
