SIX PERSONS GRANTED BAIL FOR STEALING 353 BAGS OF COCOBOD FERTILIZER

An Accra Circuit Court has allowed bail to six people who purportedly took 353 packs of compost esteemed GHS147,333.38 having a place with the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD).

 

Charles Adavlo, Sadick Abubakar, Daniel Asante and Eric Twum are on a GHS40,000.00 bail with two guarantees each, to be legitimate.

 

Somalia Mustapha and Haruna Ajaililu, then again, were conceded a GHS110,604.38 bail with two guarantees every, all to be legitimate.

 

They have all denied plotting to take the things.

 

The Court directed by Mrs Ellen Offei Ayeh requested them to return to the Court on August 8, 2022.

 

Arraigning, Police Inspector Wisdom Alorwu let the Court know that the Complainants were Policemen from the Accra Regional Police Headquarters while Al Charles Adavlo and Abubakar were drivers, and both dwelled at Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region.

 

He said Asante was a Mason and Twum, a dispatch rider and that both inhabited Jamasi in the Ashante Region. Indictment said Mustapha and Ajaililu were likewise a driver and a driver's mate, separately and both lived at Techiman in the Bono East.

 

Overseer Alorwu said on June 30, 2021 the Accra Regional Police Command had data that the charged people and different assistants at this point to be captured, had taken COCOBOD composts implied for cocoa ranchers. They offenders were shipping the composts from Accra through Dadeso to Burkina Faso.

 

The Court heard that a group of Policemen was dispatched to follow the suspects and capture them.

 

The group, indictment said, checked the blamed people from Accra and captured Adavlo, Twum, Asante and Abubakar at Jamasi on July 01, 2022 along with a Hyundai Mighty Truck with the enrollment number GR 521-12 stacked with 88 packs of the manure esteemed GHS36,729.00.

 

He said Adavlo drove the group to Dadeso where Mustapha and Jalilu were likewise captured along with a KIA RHINO Truck, enrollment number AS 8049-18 stacked with 265 packs of manure esteemed GHS110,604.375.

 

The blamed people referenced the names for different accessories who are yet to be caught, indictment said, adding that they were accompanied to the Accra Region Police Headquarters and the trucks with the 353 sacks of the show manure, esteemed GHS147,333.375 were appropriated.

 

Investigator Alorwu said a man-chase was sorted out for different assistants and that the denounced people after examinations were accused of the offenses.
