Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard, the founder and chairman of APO Group, believes that the organization's collaboration with SECAM will be crucial to improving the coherence of the Catholic Church's communications strategy across the continent.

He asserts that whereas Catholic numbers are rapidly dropping in other areas of the globe, they are rapidly rising in Africa, necessitating the Church's promotion of new partnerships and elevation of its profile through effective information transmission.

He said that given the Catholic Church's growing commitment to human development in Africa, it is strategically important to increase the African Catholic Church's exposure in the world by emphasising the Church's accomplishments on the continent.  When he spoke, Ghanaian Cardinal Richard Kuuia Baawobr had just been chosen to lead the African Catholic Church during the 19th SECAM Plenary Assembly.

"The Catholic Church's contribution to Human Development in Africa is likewise steadily growing," he stated. In the field of education, Africa has seen the largest rise in the number of Catholic-run schools during the past 10 years of any continent.

"In the area of healthcare: Over the past 10 years, Africa has seen the largest rise in the number of healthcare institutions under Catholic Church management. These consist of leprosaria, medical facilities, and hospitals.

"Compared to the rest of the world, sub-Saharan Africa has larger market shares for Catholic educational and medical institutions. Not to add that in sub-Saharan Africa, people are more satisfied with religiously affiliated hospitals and institutions than with state ones. Additionally, the Catholic Church oversees a sizable number of medical and nursing schools across the continent.

"The Catholic Church is at the centre of education, health, conflict resolution, and much more in Africa more so than ever before."

"Thanks to this partnership, the Catholic Church in Africa can now rely on APO Group to improve their communication by using the exact same type of public relations services used by our clients, namely the African Development Bank, the European Investment Bank, FIFA, and so many others, including the Catholic Church in Europe," he continued.
