Ghana won their first match in the ongoing World Cup tournament today, defeating South Korea 3-2, becoming the third African country to do so after Morocco and Senegal.
We hope we will do the same in our upcoming game with Uruguay.
South Korea had a better start and looked more likely to score before Ghana's Salisu broke the deadlock in the 24th minute, thanks to a beautiful cross from Jordan Ayew. Ten minutes later, Kudus doubled Ghana's lead with a glancing header from another Jordan Ayew cross. The Black Stars took control of the game after that, leading 2-0 at halftime.
In the second half, South Korea pressed for a comeback and we're rewarded as Gue-Sung Cho scored a brace in the 58th and 61st minutes to tie the game at 2-2, punishing Ghana for letting their guard down.
Ghana, however, regained the lead in the 68th minute after Kudus scored from a tap-in assisted by a beautiful low pass from Williams. Following that, the black stars maintained a strong defensive line to prevent South Korea from scoring until the final whistle blew. The Black stars performed admirably today and deserved to win and win again. The black stars did tremendously we and they deserve to win the game against South Korea.
