On March 2, 2023, former president John Dramani Mahama will officially begin his campaign for the 2024 flagbearer in Ho.

According to a widely read artwork published by the previous president's office, it is the case.

At the event, which is scheduled for the morning at the Cedi Auditorium of the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Mr. Mahama will formally announce his intentions to run for president in 2024.

Following his losses in the most recent two elections, in 2016 and 2020, John Mahama previously declared his desire to run for president in 2024.

The former president, however, is confident that he has the skills necessary to pull the nation out of its current economic catastrophe.

This belief, however, has been mocked by the government's New Patriotic Party (NPP), which claims that Mr. Mahama has nothing fresh to contribute.

Richard Ahiagbah, the NPP's director of communication, declared during a news conference on February 22 that his group is not afraid of Mahama's ambitions.

He said that Mr. Mahama failed to do a good job of leading Ghanaians while in government, instead putting them through unspeakable hardships, such as the occasional power outages known as "dumsor."

The New Patriotic Party's future is in no way threatened by Mahama's rumored comeback, Mr. Ahiagbah continued.

Nevertheless, Professor Joshua Alabi, the NDC's 2020 campaign manager, claims that Ghanaians are eager for the party to assume control of the government.

He asserts that the calls for the NDC to retake power stem from the ruling National Patriotic Party's (NPP's) subpar performance.

The seasoned educator made these comments on February 22 at the NDC headquarters in Accra while accompanying a group of party members to choose nomination papers for former President John Mahama.

In his speech, he said that John Mahama and the NDC are prepared to help the nation out of its current economic troubles.
