Since joining Chelsea in January from Shakhtar Donetsk, Mykhailo Mudryk has started just three games and has not appeared in Chelsea's last two games.

Graham Potter feels Mykhailo Mudryk's time away from the Chelsea team will be beneficial and that it was never going to be simple for the Ukrainian international to perform at his "absolute potential" after joining from Shakhtar Donetsk during the winter transfer window.

Mudryk garnered interest from clubs all over Europe after dominating the Champions League group stage.
The 22-year-old was coveted by Arsenal, and it was anticipated that he would transfer to the Emirates in January.
The late chase by Chelsea, led by co-owner Behdad Eghbali, began after that.

Within 48 hours, Mudryk was a Chelsea player when he and co-sporting director Paul Winstanley traveled to Turkey to meet with representatives from Shakhtar.
After a brief cameo against Liverpool, he made an impression. He then began matches against Fulham, West Ham, and Borussia Dortmund.

Mudryk played in the second half of the losses to Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur before not appearing at all in the victories over Leeds United at home and Dortmund on Tuesday.
Others have questioned Potter's usage of Ukrainian as a result of this.

The Chelsea head coach, though, is adamant that Mudryk has a bright future at Stamford Bridge and is sympathetic to the adjustment phase new players must go through.

Every player wants to play, of course, and it's crucial for them to play in order to get better, according to Potter.
"Yet, it's also not a straight line, it's not simply a play, and nothing happens in a straight path.
You need to step back occasionally.
Sometimes all you need is a little practice.
You occasionally need a break.
Hence, there are numerous factors.

"I hope he can use the time he's had for good.
Again, it's not simple for him to suddenly arrive in the middle of what for him was preseason, to move to a new nation, club, and league, and just perform at the top of his ability.
It is true regardless of the cost; I am aware that others will consider the cost, but it has no bearing on the predicament he is in.

"We think well of him.
We're optimistic about his future.
So all we have to do is assist them in settling down and assist him in realizing what he must do to assist us.

At the beginning of the year, Chelsea's offensive players have been the subject of intense scrutiny.
The number nine player, Kai Havertz, who has consistently been used in front of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and David Datro Fofana, is the most important.
The German forward, however, was superb against Dortmund.

Havertz scored Chelsea's second goal of the game, a retaken penalty in the second half, and continually troubled the opposing defense with his mobility and handling of the ball.

When asked if Havertz can develop into a reliable goal scorer for Chelsea, Potter responded, "I have no hesitation about Kai.
"He is a star player who consistently gives his all for the club, performs admirably in crunch time, and works himself to exhaustion.

"While he certainly might have benefited from playing in a somewhat different position [against Dortmund], he always gives his best effort.
That's a fantastic place to start. He still has plenty of time to develop into a top player who can score goals, provide assists, and benefit the club. He has the potential to be a great attacking player all around.
