Three International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certificates have been granted to Ghana's Fueltrade Ltd, a licensed bulk distribution company (BDC), for operating by international safety standards.
These are ISO 9001:2015 - Quality Management Systems, ISO 1400:2015 - Environment, and ISO 45001:2018 - Occupational Health and Safety.
After going through several number number of rigorous internal and external audit processes, the certifications were granted to the organization.
Last week, the certificates were displayed in Accra.
ISO accreditation
An independent, non-governmental worldwide organization called ISO creates standards to guarantee the effectiveness, quality, and safety of goods, services, and systems.
A management system, manufacturing process, service, or documentation technique that has earned ISO certification demonstrates that it satisfies all standards and quality assurance criteria.
These accreditations are available in a wide range of industrial sectors, including energy management, social responsibility, and medical equipment.
Chris Chinebuah, the Executive Chairman of Fueltrade Ltd., characterized the ISO accreditation as a significant achievement that will assist to advance workplace health and safety and customer satisfaction.
This accreditation serves as a continual reminder to develop repeatable procedures and an organizational culture that supports the achievement of our aims and objectives, he added.
Compliance
The achievement of the ISO certifications, according to Fueltrade Ltd.'s Manager of HSEQ, Maxwell Nyade, was a significant milestone that showed the organization's dedication and support to the management of occupational health, safety, environment, and quality.
He claimed that the ISO certifications were by the International Labour Organization's (ILO) Declaration on Occupational Safety and Health in a speech made on his behalf by Kwaku Poku Asamoah Manu, Head of Tech and Operations.
accreditation procedure
Fueltrade Ltd. already had an Occupational Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (OHSEQ) management system in place, and due diligence was used to strengthen it by international standards, according to Mr. Nyade, who explained the ISO certification procedure.
A gap analysis was conducted by the three ISOs, he continued, as a way to align the OHSEQ with worldwide standards and to assist strengthen the management system.
