Apostle Eric Kwabena Nyamekye, the head of the Church of Pentecost, has been appointed president of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC).
Apostle Dr. Aaron Ami-Narh, President of the Apostolic Church in Ghana, was appointed to the position of second vice president of the council.
Rt Rev. Dr. Gordon Kisseih serves as the council's first vice president.
Rev. Prof. Frimpong Manso, the GPCC's most recent president, was also recognised for his selfless contribution to the organisation and the nation as a whole.
Members of the GPCC Executive Council, representatives from the Ga Mantse, certain Members of Parliament, Ministers of State, members of the church, as well as the relatives and friends of the inductees, all attended the event.
a shared spirit
Apostle Prof. Kwadwo Opoku Onyinah, the head of the National Cathedral Project's board of trustees, urged the council to work to maintain spiritual unity in a sermon.
Notwithstanding the fact that everyone had diverse gifts, he said in his sermon on the nature, challenges to, and effects of unity that when those gifts were combined, it would foster harmony among congregations.
Apostle Onyinah cited Ephesians Chapter 4:1–7 in saying that harmony was a sign of maturity and exhorted Christians to work hard to maintain harmony and peace.
The chairman continued by stressing how important it was for Christians to elevate others rather than oneself.
the Pentecostal faith
Pentecostals, according to Rev. Prof. Frimpong Manso, believe in the Holy Spirit's baptism. He pleaded with the church to continue utilising the regional tongues to share the gospel since they were formerly used to lead people to Christ. He said, "We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit therefore do not modify it."
The foursquare gospel—Christ the Saviour, Christ the Baptizer, Christ the Healer, and Christ the Coming King—should be preached to members, he urged Apostle Nyamekye.
The council shouldn't be frightened of change, according to Rev. Prof. Frimpong Manso, since "things are changing and we must make place for the newer generation."
Support
In order to guarantee a successful term, Apostle Nyamekye urged everyone's assistance, particularly that of the council members.
According to him, the GPCC would take a research-based lobbying approach to impact national policy, including people's way of life, rather than just reacting to everything that happened around it.
He said that "sadly, such principles are disappearing in the political realm and this is where I think the church must join in," adding that "nation-building is not just about leadership but also the sustaining of values and norms."
He pledged to strengthen current connections and areas of agreement in order to promote more extensive partnerships.
"Our defences ought to be viewed as strategic rather than divisive. As we all serve Jesus Christ, the Source of eternal life, denominations are but branches of the same river.
