On Sunday, April 23, 2023, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) will hold elections to choose a parliamentary candidate to run on the party's ticket in the Kumawu Constituency By-Election in the Ashanti Region.

Nomination
The NPP General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, made a statement to announce the dates for the party's primary, stating that nominations will be accepted starting on April 11 and ending on April 14, 2023.
It said that nomination papers may be purchased at the party's constituency office.
According to the statement, the NEC and national council of the party have also established specific guidelines for the conduct of the parliamentary primary that will be made accessible to stakeholders.

The one-week commemoration of the death of the MP for Kumawu will take place on April 27, 2023, according to a report from Kumawu by Kwadwo Baffoe Donkor.
When several NPP leaders paid the family a visit to express their condolences over the MP's passing, the family's head of household, Asiedu Basoa, who is also the deceased's older brother, made the announcement.
By the time the one-week observation was held, Mr. Boasah said, the family hoped that the appropriate discussions would have taken place and "we would have agreed on the date for the burial and final funeral rites."
