Francis Asenso-Boakye, the Member of Parliament for the Bantama seat, offered scholarship packages to 106 exceptional but financially strapped university students from different communities in his area as part of events marking this year's Easter celebrations. Also, he gave financial support to 39 minor traders working in the neighborhood, most of whom are market women.
This occurred at a small ceremony that was conducted on the front lawn of the MP's district office in Bantama, Ghana.
Speaking to the recipients in person, Mr. Asenso-Boakye emphasized that the gift was part of efforts being made to address issues confronting the most vulnerable members of society and lend a helping hand.
He emphasized that the gift will significantly reduce the students' academic costs and expenses and free up the recipients to concentrate on their academics and follow their interests without worrying about money.
Also, 39 market women working in the region received cash support via the MP's Livelihood Support Plan to aid in the support of their enterprises. The goal is to assist the recipients' livelihoods and encourage the development of businesses in the neighborhood.
Constituents applauded Hon. Asenso-Boakye for his unselfish act of support for the expansion of education in the constituency, and it was a time of tremendous joy and thankfulness.
Overall, Hon. Asenso-program Boakye's is a perfect example of the value of collaborating closely with members of a community, especially the less fortunate ones, and offering creative answers to their problems.
The Bantama lawmaker disclosed that he contributed to the initiative with his portion of the MPs' Common Fund. He is confident that this investment will have a significant positive impact on the recipients' lives and encourage them to make meaningful contributions to their communities and society as a whole.
He additionally urged the recipients to make effective use of the meager assistance in order to fulfill its intended goals.
