The Adumasa Presbyterian Primary School's six-unit classroom block and the Apeguso Senior High School's 10-seat lavatory facility were both dedicated by the Asuogyaman District Assembly.
The District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) and the Responsiveness Factor Grant (RFG) provided funding for the two initiatives, both of which intended to upgrade the facilities in the recipient schools.
The Asuogyman District Chief Executive (DCE), Samuel Kwame Agyekum, praised the administration of the two schools for handling the problems until the projects were finished for them during the opening of the two projects at Apeguso and Adumasa.
I want to express my deep thanks to the administration of the school and the members of the school community for their tolerance and patience as they waited for the completion of the project. He remarked that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his administration were dedicated to seeing that the needs of students were met under the free senior high school policy, and he urged all district residents to practice patience while waiting for the government to address the issues facing the country.
The District Chief Executive of Asuogyaman added, "On behalf of the President, I also want to assure the people of the district that the assembly is equally committed to doing what is necessary to ensure that every citizen lives in comfort."
Additional requirements
Both the Chiefs of Apeguso and Adumasa, Nana Boateng Debra V and Nana Ansah Kwao IV, who presided over the events in their respective towns, expressed gratitude for the initiatives and made calls for the gathering to discuss the additional needs of schools in the district as a whole, not only those in Apeguso and Adumasa, in order to enhance successful teaching and learning.
Augustina Adwoa Owusu, the Asuogyaman District Director of Education, stated that since she assumed her position, she had received numerous complaints and requests regarding the state of the district's schools, including requests for better furniture, better facilities, and other logistical requirements for effective teaching and learning. However, little could be done by the directorate to meet these demands.
She claimed that the availability of facilities at Apeguso and Adumasa changed the game.
"I said a game changer because the facilities will put a smile not only on the pupils' and teachers' faces of the beneficiary schools, but also on the communities at large, as the old facilities that were replaced posed great danger to the users," she added.
The director pleaded with the assembly and all well-meaning district residents to assist in furnishing the schools since the severe furniture shortage was impeding efficient teaching and learning.
