NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Okaikwei Central, Sadiq Abdulai Abu, claims that he set a goal of visiting the homes of 1000 delegates as part of his campaign for success in the recently concluded NDC primaries.
Even though he fell short of his goal, 800 delegates were successfully persuaded to listen to him in their homes, according to Sadiq Abu.
He mentioned how his interactions with those 800 delegates helped him refine his message and win the election.
When eventually granted the go-ahead to represent the constituency in parliament, he stated he plans to keep working hard the way he did to accomplish this difficult task.
"I have always tried to have a really strong work ethic, so I just had to apply it to everything I've done. I told my staff at the beginning that I wanted to know the faces and homes of roughly 1000 delegates before the end of the year last year. This was one of the things I performed covertly without anybody knowing.
"I distinctly recall that my team's initial reaction was, "Hey, how is this possible? Moment no dey. I responded by saying, "Listen, let's do the harder work." As a result, we spent time traveling. Although we fell short of our goal of 1000, we managed to reach over 800 places.
I went to every single person's home, spoke to them, and engaged them. Out of this group, 800 had connections, and they were then given the message.
"So by the time we were going to the branches, this group, the interactions with them, and the feedback—all of that went into the messaging we took around during the branches, and all of that helped," he explained on JoyNews' PM Express.
He said that in order to perform a thorough job, he left his firm and totally committed himself to the political process, which led to his win.
"You know, at one time I had to resign from the business I had started because I wanted to give it my all and must make sure we do all within our power to win, which is exactly what we accomplished.
