The future of West Ham captain Declan Rice remains a hot topic, with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Manchester United heavily linked with a potential summer transfer.
Rice will enter the final year of his contract with the Hammers at the end of June, albeit David Moyes' side have the option to extend the tough-tackling midfielder's deal by a further 12 months if they wish. But that is unlikely to stop interested clubs from pursuing a potential transfer, with Mikel Arteta's side making the 24-year-old their priority target for the summer window, football.london understands.
A host of other clubs in the Premier League and across Europe are also said to be monitoring Rice's future at the London Stadium and a move to the Gunners is far from guaranteed so football.london has taken a look at everything you need to know about the England international's future below.
Tuchel gives Bayern hope
Declan Rice could still sign to Bayern Munich despite currently preferring a Premier League move following another meeting with the German champions.
Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel is the main driving force behind their pursuit, according to Sky Sports Germany, with bosses continuing to discuss the West Ham captain amid the preparation of an official offer being made.
Arsenal's £100m decision
The structure of Arsenal's offer to West Ham for Declan Rice looks set to prove crucial in determining whether Mikel Arteta can sign his priority target this summer.
Add-ons may form a large portion of their payment for Rice and CBS reporter Ben Jacobs has explained how they will likely prove decisive in Arsenal going over the £100million mark.
Speaking on The Done Deal Show, via The Boot Room, he said: “I think Arsenal are the frontrunners for sure because Rice would like to stay in London. The initial offer that Arsenal are preparing is for below £100m.
“In the end it won’t be as much about the number as the structure. If it’s £100m, Arsenal will lean towards it being made through add-ons and bonuses, but if it’s under £100m, which is the expectation from Arsenal and other suitors, then Arsenal may have to pay more up front.”
Bayern snubbed
Rice will prioritise a move to the Premier League , with the 24-year-old set to snub a move to Bayern, according to the Daily Mail.
It is claimed that Arsenal are frontrunners in the race to sign Rice, with the player thought to be keen to stay in London. However, Manchester United remain in the race despite their limited transfer budget, with the Red Devils prepared to offer a player plus cash offer in an attempt to sign the England international.
The report adds that Arsenal are set to make an opening offer in the region of £90 million after West Ham have played in their Europa Conference League final against Fiorentina next week.
London hint
Rice continues to be linked with a move to Bayern but if his old comments are anything to go by, he doesn't want to stray too far from London. Speaking to Gary Neville on The Overlap Extra last year, the talented midfielder said: "'I'm here [Kingston] all the time.
A quick Google search will tell you that his hometown of Kingston-upon-Thames is less than 15 miles away from Arsenal's Emirates Stadium, more than 600 miles closer than Bayern's Allianz Arena.
