LET ANOTHER MAN PRAISE YOU
Proverbs 27:1-2
Boast not thyself of to-morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
Pro 27:2 Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.
A man always makes plans for his future and forgets tomorrow isn't his to make plans for.
Boast not thyself of to-morrow, not only because it is extremely foolish, but because it is exceedingly hurtful. Boasting of to-morrow is hurtful to us in every way. It is hurtful to us now. I never knew a man who was always hoping to do great things in the future, who never did much in the present
Be humble about what's to come! Tomorrow is not up to us. We may have taken tomorrow for granted in the past, but not anymore. Maybe tomorrow won't come. Something bad could happen tomorrow. Everything we have could be gone tomorrow. Is there anything good we can hold on to in the face of these discouraging possibilities? Absolutely! We know that God is in charge of the future. We know that our future is safe because our lives are hidden with Christ in God (Colossians 3:1–4). It may not be what we think it will be. It might not work out the way we want. But God will decide how things will go, and in the end, we will share in his comfort, victory, and glory.
A favorite adage of mine says; If wishes were horses beggars, could have a ride. If all we wish for comes to pass everyone will own a private jet, a Jep, BMW, or G-wagon, a house, or a business. Silver and Gold and all this of the earth is the Lords.
Prayer: Father, all of my tomorrows depend on you. I hope that I can help you today, that I will be brave enough not to worry about tomorrow, and that my love for you and my commitment to you will not change. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
