EVEN IF ALL PASTORS PRAY AND ANOINT MAHAMA, HE WILL NOT BE PRESIDENT AGAIN – PRINCE DAVID OSEI

Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei recently expressed skepticism on X regarding the chances of former President John Dramani Mahama returning to power. A supporter of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Osei argued that despite endorsements from prominent pastors in the country, Mahama's bid for the presidency is unlikely to succeed.

In his post, Osei emphasized that the accusations and "propaganda" directed at the NPP, particularly concerning illegal mining, are not confined to a single political party. He pointed out that both NPP and National Democratic Congress (NDC) members, including influential figures and pastors, are implicated in the issue of illegal mining, often referred to as galamsey.

"Good morning fellow countrymen and women. Let me share a brief perspective. Even if all the pastors were to pray and anoint Ex-President Mahama, he would not regain the presidency," he wrote. Osei believes that the ongoing smear tactics against the NPP will not yield the desired results.

He further commented on the complex nature of illegal mining in Ghana, highlighting that the challenge stems from its politicization. "The issue of illegal mining involves individuals from both NDC and NPP, politicians, pastors, and the public. Some of us are not mere observers; our prayers are impactful. Pay attention and consider the facts," he added.

The issue of illegal mining has been a persistent challenge for Ghana, and research suggests that the political dynamics surrounding it have hampered effective action. Osei's remarks reflect a broader concern over the political landscape in Ghana as the nation heads toward elections, with issues like illegal mining continuing to dominate public discourse.

In conclusion, as Ghana approaches another election cycle, the interplay of politics, religion, and pressing national issues like illegal mining will undoubtedly shape the narratives and outcomes. Osei's statements underscore the need for critical reflection and a collective effort to address these challenges beyond partisan lines.
