The head coach of Ghana’s Black Galaxies, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, has unveiled a 32-player squad for a crucial pre-training camp as part of preparations for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers. The training camp, which kicked off on Monday, November 25, 2024, is being held at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. This intensive training session is designed to prepare the team for a two-legged qualifier against Nigeria scheduled for December. The training camp will focus on a mix of tactical drills, conditioning exercises, and practice matches to ensure the players are in top form for the upcoming matches. The Ghana Football Association aims to leave no stone unturned in readying the squad, given the high stakes of the upcoming qualifiers.

The pre-training camp is structured in two phases. The first phase runs from November 25 to December 5, at which point the team will take a brief break to allow for Ghana’s National elections. The second phase will commence on December 8, continuing until the team's first qualifier match. Ghana is set to host Nigeria for the first leg on Saturday, December 21, 2024. The return leg will be held in Nigeria between December 27 and 29, 2024. Coach Dramani’s decision to break the camp reflects a careful balancing of national events and sports priorities, as he prepares to lead his team through one of their most challenging fixtures. With the Nigeria clash looming, Dramani’s meticulous planning and focus on comprehensive training are seen as critical to Ghana’s success.

The upcoming qualifiers are particularly significant, given Ghana’s recent success in the 2023 CHAN qualifiers, where the Black Galaxies defeated Nigeria to earn a spot in the tournament. This achievement has heightened expectations, with fans and stakeholders eager for a repeat performance in 2025. The ultimate goal is to qualify for the CHAN tournament, which will be hosted in Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda. The current squad, which features a blend of seasoned players and rising talents, is undergoing a rigorous training regime to sharpen their skills and cohesion ahead of the critical fixtures. Coach Dramani’s selection strategy and focus on discipline and tactical awareness are geared toward replicating the team’s previous success and ensuring another triumphant qualification for Ghana in the CHAN tournament.
