The murder of Francis Frimpong, commonly known as Nana Pooley, a supporter of Asante Kotoko, has prompted Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to demand the quick arrest of those responsible.
The terrible death of the Kotoko fan occurred at Nana Kronmansah Park during the Matchday 19 match between Asante Kotoko and Nsoatreman FC.
Ignatius Baffour Awuah, the former Labour and Employment Minister and owner of Nsoatreman FC, is one of the seven people arrested thus far.
"This occurrence is really concerning. What was the initial reason for this to occur? Otumfuo asked. "Someone's evil deed has cost a family a young, energetic man. Nobody should die as a result of playing a game.
As evidence of the efficacy of the nation's laws, the King ordered that the attacker be found and taken into custody immediately, regardless of the precise location where the crime was perpetrated.
"You conspire to murder someone because he said something that led to your demotion? Nobody ought to give him the power to carry out such a crime.
"This was an unfortunate event. To apprehend the offender, do a comprehensive investigation. Why is he still not in custody? Even though he is still alive, the police are unable to apprehend him. To discourage others, arrest him," he continued.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has issued matchday safety regulations that all teams must follow to stop hooliganism at the various stadiums.

In the meantime, Sharks player Jay Asamoah has been accused of attacking referee Eso Doh Morrison, in violation of Section 13 (1) (k) of the Ghana Football Association's Disciplinary Code.
