Israeli Broadcaster Reports 63 Injured, One Dead in Iranian Missile Attacks

June 14, 2025 – Jerusalem

The number of casualties from the recent Iranian missile attacks has risen, with Israeli state broadcaster Kan reporting that 63 individuals were injured and one man was killed. The announcement came as Israeli emergency services continued to assess the extent of the damage and provide medical assistance in multiple affected areas.

The missile strikes, which began late Thursday night, targeted several locations across Israel, including strategic military installations and civilian zones. The Israeli military confirmed the use of ballistic and cruise missiles launched from Iranian territory, marking one of the most serious escalations between the two countries in recent years.

According to the Kan report, among the 63 injured, at least 11 are in serious condition, with others sustaining moderate to light injuries. Medical personnel and rescue teams responded rapidly, evacuating casualties to hospitals in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Jerusalem. The identity of the man killed has not yet been officially released, pending notification of his family.

Eyewitnesses described the scenes of chaos and fear as air raid sirens blared and explosions lit up the night sky. “We heard a massive boom and the windows shattered,” said Rachel Ben-Yosef, a resident of northern Israel. “The children were terrified. We had only seconds to get to the shelter.”

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated that many of the incoming missiles were intercepted by the Iron Dome and other air defense systems, preventing potentially larger-scale destruction. However, several missiles reportedly bypassed defenses, leading to direct hits on infrastructure and homes.

In a televised address, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the attacks, calling them “an act of war” and vowed a decisive response. “Iran will bear the consequences of this aggression,” he said.

Iran has yet to release an official statement regarding the assault, though regional analysts suggest the attack may be linked to recent Israeli operations in Syria and Iraq targeting Iranian-backed militias.

International leaders have called for restraint amid fears of a broader regional conflict. The United Nations Security Council is expected to convene an emergency meeting to address the rapidly evolving situation.
