🚨BREAKING: Jarell Quansah Set for Bayer Leverkusen Switch in £30m Deal

The next chapter in Jarell Quansah’s career is crystallizing as the 22‑year‑old Liverpool centre‑back has reportedly verbally agreed personal terms with Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, edging ever closer to sealing a permanent transfer worth around £30 million plus add-ons.

This exciting development comes amid a flurry of transfer activity between Liverpool and Leverkusen, headlined by Liverpool’s blockbuster capture of Florian Wirtz in a British-record £116 million move. With Wirtz's arrival, Leverkusen’s need to strengthen their defensive ranks has intensified—especially after veteran Jonathan Tah’s free move to Bayern Munich.

Quansah, a product of Liverpool’s academy and a presence in the first team under Jürgen Klopp, struggled for consistent game time under Arne Slot last season. He made only a handful of Premier League appearances, prompting questions about his development at Anfield.

That’s why this move feels pivotal. At Leverkusen, under new coach Erik ten Hag, Quansah is poised to evolve as a starting centre‑half—a role he’s long been tipped to fill at the top level.

Liverpool initially pegged Quansah’s valuation at around £40 million, confident of his potential. Yet, as deal talks gained momentum, Leverkusen appeared to narrow the fee toward the current £30 million range with possible future incentives.

The Reds, meanwhile, are already preparing for a defensive reshuffle. They’re exploring replacements including Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, whose home‑grown status and availability in the next transfer windows align with Liverpool’s strategy.

Quansah himself has hinted at his ambition clearly: after winning the Premier League in 2024, he's looking for a platform where he can grow with regular minutes. "I’m in a very good position to take the next step," he said with England U‑21s.

If all goes to plan, this transfer marks a major milestone. Leverkusen gain a talented, club‑trained defender with serious upside and Liverpool free up a key pathway for new arrivals—all while reinvesting their blockbuster summer haul wisely.

Watch this space: the final signatures could arrive very soon.
