If the Blues complete deals for three players linked with a move to Chelsea this summer, they could field a stunning starting XI.

Chelsea are now at the ideal point in the season to resurrect their stuttering Premier League title challenge.

The January transfer window has only been open for a few days, and the Blues have been linked with a number of players.

Some players have been rumored to be under consideration for an immediate move to Stamford Bridge, while others may be set to join Thomas Tuchel's squad on free transfers at the end of the current season.

With that in mind, football.london examines the potential XI that the current Chelsea manager could field if the Blues complete deals for a few of the previously-linked players.

Defence

As the January transfer window approaches, there are a number of concerns about Chelsea's defense, particularly at full-back.

Ben Chilwell and Reece James have both suffered serious injuries, with the former expected to miss the rest of the season.

Chelsea have reportedly turned to the current market to solve the problem, and they have already been linked with Lucas Digne, who has fallen out of favor under Everton manager Rafa Benitez.

Midfield

At the moment, Chelsea's midfield is spoiled for choice.

Tuchel has one of the most gifted defensive midfielders in the world in N'Golo Kante, and Jorginho was a viable candidate for the Ballon d'Or throughout 2021.

Mateo Kovacic, a former Real Madrid and Inter Milan player, is also in fine form for Chelsea, having put in a vintage performance in the Blues' entertaining 2-2 draw with Liverpool, which was capped by a stunning goal.

Tuchel can also call on Saul Niguez, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Ross Barkley in the meantime.

Attack

The frontline is the department that could see the most investment, given the uncertainty surrounding the futures of both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner. The Belgian international gave an explosive interview in which he discussed a possible return to former club Inter Milan, while the latter has been linked with Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona.

Previous starting XI:Mendy; Rudiger, Silva, Chalobah; Alonso, Kovacic, Kante, Azpilicueta; Pulisic, Mount, Havertz

Potential Chelsea starting XI:Mendy; Rudiger, Silva, Chalobah; Digne, Kovacic, Kante, James; Dembele, Lukaku, Haaland.

Erling Haaland is one addition who could fill a potential void. Due to his outstanding form, the Norwegian striker has been linked with a number of clubs in recent seasons, including Chelsea.

It has been reported that he could be available for as little as £68 million in the summer, but he is currently valued at £135 million, so it will be interesting to see if the Blues would be interested. intriguing to see if the Blues would be tempted to push the boat out once more having already broken their club record to sign Lukaku.
