According to German newspaper BILD.
According to an exclusive report published today on BILD, Real Madrid and French striker Kylian Mbappe have reached an agreement, and the attacker will become a madridista next summer. According to the same report, Mbappe would earn around €50 million per year pre-tax — around €38 million as his gross salary.
Mbappe is set to become a free agent next summer after turning down numerous contract extensions with Paris Saint-Germain. Real Madrid attempted to sign him last summer, but PSG decided to keep him hoping that he would eventually sign an extension, and while some reports in the French press suggested that the attacker might be willing to accept a short contract, it appears that he will play for Real Madrid in the 2022-2023 season.
Still, no contract has been signed, and things could change quickly given that Real Madrid and PSG will meet in the Champions League Round of 16 this February. Could something happen during those two games to sway Mbappe's decision, or will he sign with Real Madrid regardless?
This saga will soon come to an end.
Real Madrid failed with two separate bids for Mbappe last summer, but it appears that they will get their man at the end of the season.
Florentino Perez, club president, is desperate to sign the France international, but his offers of £137 million (€160 million) and £145.5 million (€170 million) in August were rejected by PSG.
This season, PSG has attempted to persuade Mbappe to sign a new contract. They appear to have been unsuccessful.
According to Bild, the 23-year-old striker has agreed to join Real Madrid on a free transfer in the summer.
He will reportedly earn £41.54 million (€50 million) per year from the Spanish giants.
This season, Mbappe has 19 goals and 15 assists in 27 appearances for Mauricio Pochettino's side.
