According to Cuatro, Barcelona has acted on their interest in Erling Haaland by offering him a mega-contract worth €190 million over five seasons.

The 21-year-old Haaland is one of the most sought-after players as the summer transfer window approaches. Almost every top club on the continent is interested in the Norwegian, with Manchester City, Real Madrid, Manchester United, PSG, and Chelsea all expressing an interest.

Barcelona, too, has been hot on Haaland's trail, making him a priority for the summer. Joan Laporta, the club president, is determined to make the Borussia Dortmund striker his marquee signing for the summer and Mino Raiola, his agent, met with him several times to try to work out a deal.

Earlier today, it was reported that manager Xavi Hernandez had traveled to Germany to meet the centre-forward in person and persuade him to join Barcelona at the end of the season.

Following that update, Cuatro has made a significant development in the situation, stating that the Blaugrana have drafted a contract proposal for the 21-year-old.

While this is the contract proposed by Barcelona, Raiola is said to be looking for a three-year deal with a two-year extension option. Nonetheless, Laporta and Haaland's father, Alf-Inge, has been informed by the super-agent that the 21-year-old'must play' for the Catalans next season.

With these developments, there is a buzz around the club. In addition to the wages, Barcelona would be required to pay Haaland's €75 million release clause and Raiola and the striker's father would receive a commission, bringing the total cost of the transaction to around €110 million.

The total cost of the operation to sign Haaland, including the proposed contract, could exceed €300 million. It remains to be seen how Barcelona will raise the necessary funds for the transfer. One option is to sign the La Liga – CVC agreement, which could net the club €250 million.
