Barcelona has expressed interest in signing Romelu Lukaku during the summer transfer window. The Blaugrana see the Chelsea striker as a possible replacement for Robert Lewandowski, with a loan deal being considered.
Last summer, the Belgian international returned to the Blues from Inter Milan, looking to complete unfinished business at the west London club. Lukaku, on the other hand, has struggled to make an impact at Chelsea, due to an untimely injury and bad form.
Romelu scored eight goals in 26 Premier League games for the Blues, putting him behind Havertz in the pecking order for centre-forwards. And the 29-year-old centre-second forward's spell with the Blues might come to an end after a year, with several high-profile European clubs, including Barcelona, alerted to his potential availability.
The Blaugrana's interest comes after the Catalan giants came into a few stumbling blocks in their chase of Lewandowski. The Blaugrana have made the Polish striker a key priority this summer as they attempt to sign a new top-class centre-forward.
In the race to sign Romelu Lukaku, though, the Catalan giants may face heavy competition from Inter Milan, with the Belgian striker wanting to return to San Siro this summer.
Inter Milan and Romelu Lukaku have also achieved a personal understanding, with the Blues being the sole side to be persuaded to sanction a trade. So the Blaugrana will need to move quickly to land Romelu Lukaku ahead of the Nerazzurri this summer.

Mikel Arteta will be anxious to enhance his Arsenal squad during the summer transfer window after failing to qualify for the Champions League last season.
With Alexandre Lacazette having gone, Arteta will no doubt be looking for a striker during this window. However, it appears that he is looking for midfield reinforcements as well as an attacking player.
Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma is expected to join Arsenal this summer, according to Calcio Mercato, as Arteta aims to boost his team after qualifying for European competition next season.
Arsenal had no European distractions last season, so Arteta will need to add to his squad depth due to the tight schedule that comes with playing in the Europa League.
Bissouma would give Arsenal another midfield option, and the possibility of the Brighton midfielder teaming up with Thomas Partey should excite Arsenal supporters.
The 25-year-old is at ease on the ball, which is ideal for Arteta's style, but he can also break up play and isn't afraid to get his hands dirty in the middle of the pitch. Bissouma won't have to adjust to life in the Premier League after spending four seasons at Brighton, and he should have no trouble adjusting to life at Arsenal.
