PSG Star: Chelsea Told to Pay €50m

Presnel Kimpembe, a highly regarded French defender, is expected to leave Paris Saint-Germain in the summer amid interest from Chelsea. According to Foot Mercato, PSG has set a €50 million sum as his release clause.

There are plenty of suitors for the France international as well. The PSG academy product is sought for by a number of clubs, including Chelsea, but they will compete with Juventus. The midfielder reportedly offered himself to Atletico Madrid in the meantime because his agents think he would fit in nicely under Diego Simeone. But unless Mario Hermoso quits the team, Atletico is not planning to transfer.

Chelsea is now in a prime position to try to make a bid for Kimpembe as a result. After losing Antonio Rudiger to Real Madrid, they are in serious need of bringing in a new and top-notch defender in the summer. In contrast to Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso, who both have left the team, Andreas Christensen has also departed the organization.

Chelsea is considering a new offer for the £103 million-rated Serie A star.

According to Corriere dello, Chelsea intends to submit a new transfer request for Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt during the summer transfer window.

Following the exits of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, the Blues are ready to sign a new central defender this summer.

De Ligt is their current top objective, and it has been suggested that they may launch a recent switch bid in the following week.

Timo Werner or Christian Pulisic were not included in their initial offer, which was for £35 million. Juventus prefers to buy De Ligt outright.

Although the Dutchman's contract currently includes a £103 million release clause, a payment of about £70 million might persuade them to elevate him.

The 22-year-old has been a staple at Juventus for the past three seasons, but he turned down a brand-new contract that would have ended in the summer of 2024.
