Nathan Ake might be on the verge of moving to London this summer to join his Manchester City teammate Raheem Sterling, whose £47.5 million move to Chelsea is practically complete.

It has been widely reported that Manchester City are willing to sell the Dutchman as long as Thomas Tuchel's team can accept a price tag of between £40 million and £50 million.

The 27-year-old was acquired by the Sky Blues for £41 million from Bournemouth in the summer of 2020, so they may be able to recoup their investment or perhaps make a profit.

However, this might leave Manchester City with only Ruben Dias, Aymeric Laporte, and John Stones as their senior center-halves, making them fairly thin at the defense.

According to rumors, Pep Guardiola would want to recruit a replacement for the potential departure of Nathan Ake.

Three of the top European teams, including Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Chelsea, are interested in signing the Juventus defender.

The former Ajax player has a €120 million release clause in place, but it has been said that the Italian powerhouses would approve his sale for less money.

But many fans disagree on whether Manchester City will pursue the Dutchman given that his value has decreased since moving to Turin in 2019.

While one might speculate for hours, a fresh piece of information from Italy sheds light on whether the club would be interested in the 22-year-summer old's coup.

According to a Tutto Juve story, Manchester City is prepared to pay €90 million to get Matthijs de Ligt.

After the arrivals of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez, more information suggests that Pep Guardiola's strategy is to assemble a team made up of the greatest young players in the world, and that he views the two-time Serie A champion as one of these prospects.

Despite the fact that the transfer cost is nothing short of extraordinary, it has been stated that the deal is feasible because of the revenue City receives from player sales.

The Sky Blues may easily flex their financial muscle on de Ligt given that Raheem Sterling and Nathan Ake are expected to fetch a combined sum of around to £100 million as well as the sales of players like Gabriel Jesus, Romeo Lavia, Gavin Bazunu, Darko Gyabi, and Samuel Edozie.

De Ligt will be expected to fill Ake's position as the fourth-choice center-back for the Premier League champions in sky blue the following season.

Despite all indications that a move for the imposing defender makes sense, it is unlikely that Manchester City will spend such a hefty sum on a player who will likely serve as a backup season after season.
