Stephen Ayesu Ntim, National Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party, has underlined the necessity for the party to have a more complete membership database and that action would soon be done to guarantee that all party members will be properly registered.
Chairman Stephen Ayesu Ntim spoke during the party's 30th Anniversary and National Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, July 31 in Accra.
"After 30 years of being around, we must be determined to create a real party membership register to strengthen our collective ownership of the party, a party that is unified, compassionate, and battle-ready to Break the Eight and to win election after election." He also utilised the occasion to honour and commemorate the party's past, present, and future heroes and heroines since the beginning of the custom.
We honour and commemorate our heroes and heroines since the beginning of our history, not the 30-year trip we have already tallied up as a party since 1992. They worked hard to get us thus far while the rest slept. They will never be forgotten because their names are permanently etched in our minds as long as Ghana exists, he added.
Additionally, he urged party members to use the 30th anniversary of the party's founding as a serious opportunity to reflect on and recall the fundamental principles of the NPP's traditions. Chairman Ntim emphasised that the celebrations also signify the beginning of the party's current leadership's efforts to unify the party by addressing all internal issues, reviewing our structures and procedures, strengthening ties with members of the public and other external branches, and repairing and bolstering ties with the government.
The Dr. Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium at the University of Professional Studies-Accra hosted the Thanksgiving Service. His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, the current and former members of the National Executive, as well as other government appointees, attended.
