According to reports, Abdulwaheed Lamidi, 55, passed away while staying with his sweetheart at the City International Motel, Council Bus-Stop in the Ikotun neighborhood of Lagos State.
Lamidi began dating a 32-year-old woman after they met online. Punch claims that on August 13, she traveled to the motel from her home in another state to visit Lamidi.
Things changed when the woman went outside to ask for assistance on Sunday morning after spending the night together.
Lamidi was found dead on the floor when other hotel staff members raced into the room.
One individual who spoke with the media said;
"The girl claimed that the male intended to use the restroom but instead fell down. When a physician from a nearby hospital arrived at the room after being summoned, he announced that the man had passed away.
The woman claimed that she traveled to Lagos to meet the man because he had promised to marry her. She planned to move into his home to live with him as his live-in lover and brought some belongings with her.
They went to a hotel instead of the man's residence since that's where they were when the man slumped and the girl ran outside to get aid.
He was discovered asleep on the floor when people rushed into the room. The girl arrived from another state on Saturday, but the incident occurred around 8:40 a.m. on Sunday. The girl claimed to have spoken to the man after meeting him online.
While the body was being transported to a mortuary, the woman was detained and questioned. SP The incident was corroborated by Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police official in charge of public relations, who also stated that the suspect didn't want her parents involved in the inquiry.
According to Hundeyin,
"We called the deceased person's family, and they showed up. They are attempting to regain their physical form. The command is currently reviewing their application even though they stated they did not desire any sort of criminal investigation. Although the body has been placed in a mortuary, nothing has been decided as of yet. She refuses to give us her family's contact information because she doesn't want them to know what occurred, and the woman is still in our care.
