The University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) is the first institution in Africa to have the most advanced radiological imaging equipment installed.
The Nanox.ARC apparatus improves the early identification of medical disorders that can be found using imaging technologies based on X-rays.
It was referred to as a functioning prototype of the next digital X-ray technology used in medical imaging processes, which has a special clinical significance.
A new radiology learning facility has also been built by the UGMC to educate medical professionals from all across Africa on the use of Nanox.
ARC.
The project was carried out in collaboration with Forte Medical Ltd, a Group Addo associate firm that specialises in the local and international distribution of cutting-edge medical imaging technologies.
Significance
Dr. Darius Osei, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the UGMC, stated that the training was essential because it was new to the field of healthcare delivery.
And the UGMC is honoured to take part in this historic occasion. The Nanox.cutting-edge ARC's cold cathode technology enables it to produce high-quality medical pictures with remarkable speed and precision, resulting in better patient diagnosis and treatment.
"This technology is being introduced for the first time in Africa, and we are confident that its introduction will help the nation become the main destination for medical travel throughout Africa and beyond.
"We also think that this collaboration with Forte Medical will enable UGMC to carry on improving the lives of not just our patients.
Schedule for payments
The UGMC will not be paying for the hospital in cash, according to Nana Addo, CEO of Forte Medical.
He said the equipment would be used on a pay-per-scan basis until it had paid for itself and would then be permanently transferred to the medical institution.
The mission of Nanox is to improve access to imaging, lower the cost of imaging, and increase imaging efficiency in order to increase early prevention and treatment, enhance health outcomes, and ultimately save lives by increasing the early detection of medical conditions that can be discovered by X-ray-based medical imaging technologies.
"Nanox is creating a comprehensive imaging solution that consists of Nanox and the Nanox System.
He stated that ARC was employing its brand-new MEMs X-ray source technology.
Mission
Yaniv Tessel, the head of the Israel Economic and Trade Mission, stated that the mission's role was to develop economic ties between Israeli and Ghanaian companies for mutual gain.
He mentioned the Nanox deployment as one of the many Israeli technologies adopted locally to support healthcare delivery and stated that it was one of the mission's top priorities, adding that it was "one of the many success stories as we promote economic and trade relations between Israel and Ghana."
