Worried people of Teshie in the Greater Accra Region's Ledzokuku municipality have vowed to back Benjamin Ayiku, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP), should he decide to run for the parliamentary seat in 2024.
They said that despite Mr. Ayiku's party not being in power, he had worked hard to advance his supporters' lives.
The locals praised his contributions to the municipality's growth in the fields of security, agriculture, infrastructure, health, and education.
Health and Safety
Richmond Osa Mensah, a representative for the worried citizens, told reporters that during his first three months in office, the MP contributed equipment to the health directorate and installed lamps at the LEKMA Hospital.

He "acquired a block of land, which he has allocated for the development of a polyclinic inside the constituency to extend access to quality healthcare for those living in Teshie and other neighboring towns," Mr. Mensah said.
Regarding security, he claimed that more than 2,000 lights had been installed in election districts to enlighten the region and reduce the rising crime rate.
Moreover, he said that the MP bought desktop computers, printers, air conditioners, and a projector for the constituency office of the Ghana National Fire Service.
When it comes to infrastructure, Mr. Mensah claimed that the MP built foot bridges for residents who had trouble getting to surrounding communities like Tsuibleoo South Electoral District (Muji Park) and Akro easily.
According to Mr. Mensah, the MP had plans in place to build such footbridges in other voting districts, particularly in those that were prone to flooding.
Agriculture and education: "Over the last few years, the MP has organized and funded the municipal mock examinations for all final-year students in the constituency.
Students who took the mock and Basic Education Certificate Exams in 2021 and 2022 received math instruction from him. He produced 4,000 exercise booklets and gave them out to the pupils.
He said that against this backdrop, the local education office honored him for his steadfast dedication to the provision of education in the municipality.
They included the MP's assistance with young people's skill acquisition at the National Vocational and Technical Institute as among his other accomplishments (NVTI)
The MP did not avoid discussing agriculture. He has provided fridges for the 2021 and 2022 Farmer's Day celebrations in the constituency, as well as seed money and high-quality plastic fish crates to the local fishermen, demonstrating his strong support for the festivities, they continued.
Youth employment: "With regard to youth employment, they assert that the MP made start-up capital available to some women and artisans so they could launch their own businesses. They also add that he had made preparations to launch sports development programs to help and empower youth in sports.
