The 19th congregation of the Islamic University College, Ghana (IUCG) included a warning to graduates not to use their credentials and credentials alone as a guarantee of success.

Alhaii Yussif Baba Suleman, a Data Updating Officer at the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), who provided the advise, explained that this was because their training and experience might not be sufficient for them to survive in the real world.

He thus urged them to develop their social networks and look into business prospects because current circumstances had made it clear that there were no longer any viable white collar employment.

"Wherever you are right now, establish friends and cultivate positive connections with everyone there.

Your old student, coworker, or even professor may end up being the president of Ghana, the chief executive officer of a major firm, an innovator, or an investor who might need your knowledge, the speaker stated.

At the ceremony's keynote speech on March 18, 2023, in Accra, Mr. Suleman offered the counsel.

The ceremony served as both a matriculation for new students and women, and 222 people—113 men and 109 women—were awarded bachelor's degrees.

A total of 83 of them were in business administration with options in accounting, marketing, banking and finance, and human resource management. Another 71 were in communication studies with possibilities in journalism, public relations, and advertising.

Other events included the giving of special prizes to pupils who excelled.

Mr. Suleman urged them to utilise their first degrees to do incredible feats rather than to be content with their accomplishments.

As you work to advance and advance, you will come against dangers, challenges, and never-ending difficulties. When you encounter such situations, smile.

The events that took place between 2019 and 2022 taught us that threats and challenges spur innovation, creativity, and possibilities," he continued.

Dr. Husseini I. Ibrahim, the vice president of the university in charge of academic affairs, reiterated the point by urging them to resist the temptation to view their degree as the culmination of their academic endeavours and instead strive to add more because "first degree has become basic these days."
